GYEON Q²M Total Remover
GYEON Q²M Total Remover
Reset Existing Protection Before Your Next Coating or Sealant
GYEON Q²M Total Remover is a chemical protection remover for preparing a vehicle for its next detailing stage. It is designed to degrade existing waxes, sealants and coatings, helping you address an old protective layer without automatically starting with abrasive polishing. Available in 500ml and 1L, it is useful when changing protection products or preparing a surface that has an unknown treatment already on it.
A protection reset and paint correction serve different purposes. Total Remover targets existing protective products; polishing addresses defects such as swirls and scratches. If the finish is already in good condition, chemical removal may help reduce the need for unnecessary abrasive work. If it is damaged, the vehicle may still need correction before new protection is applied.
When GYEON Total Remover Is Useful
- Changing waxes or sealants: reduce interference from previous protection before starting a new system.
- Preparing for a coating: chemically degrade an existing layer as part of the preparation process.
- Resetting an unknown finish: help address protective products left by previous detailing work.
- Preparing a new vehicle: remove compatible factory-applied or delivery-stage waxes where present.
- Working on finishes unsuitable for routine polishing: provides a non-abrasive preparation option for compatible matte paint and film surfaces.

How to Use GYEON Total Remover
- Wash the vehicle. Remove dirt and loose contamination first. Chemical stripping should begin on a clean surface.
- Check compatibility. Confirm the paint or film manufacturer's cleaning guidance and test a small area, especially on matte finishes and unfamiliar materials.
- Prepare a cool, wet panel. Work in the shade with a rinse method ready. Treat one manageable section at a time.
- Apply and distribute. Spray the product over the section and spread it evenly with a clean, suitable wash mitt. Keep it away from materials that have not been confirmed compatible.
- Observe the bottle's contact time. Keep the surface wet throughout and do not allow the cleaner to dry. Do not extend the dwell time in an attempt to force complete removal.
- Rinse thoroughly. Flush away the cleaner and loosened residue. Inspect the result and repeat the process only as needed and as directed.
- Complete the remaining preparation. Dry and inspect the surface, address contamination or defects where required, and carry out the final preparation specified by your chosen coating or sealant.
Things to Watch For
- This product intentionally attacks protection. Do not use it as a routine maintenance wash when the goal is to preserve an existing coating.
- Do not assume every cured ceramic coating will be completely removed in a single application.
- A change in water beading is a useful observation, but it does not independently prove that every trace of coating has gone.
- Avoid hot panels, direct sunlight and drying residue. Keep control of overspray and rinse adjacent areas where needed.
- Removing protection does not make scratched paint, damaged film or an etched finish look new.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Total Remover completely remove any ceramic coating?
No universal one-step result should be assumed. GYEON describes it as degrading coatings to support preparation and bonding. The coating chemistry and remaining condition determine whether further treatment or polishing is required.
Is this the same as GYEON Prep?
No. Prep is used for final degreasing and residue removal before coating. Total Remover targets existing protective layers. Depending on the chosen coating system, a job may need both stages.
Can it remove scratches or swirl marks?
No. It does not level paint defects. If correction is required, assess the finish and use an appropriate polishing process before applying new protection.
Can it be used on matte paint or paint protection film?
GYEON lists use on compatible matte finishes and PPF. Follow the finish or film manufacturer's instructions and test first, since abrasive correction may not be available if a delicate finish is affected.
Should I use it for ordinary hard-water spots?
GYEON WaterSpot is the targeted mineral-deposit cleaner. Total Remover serves a different purpose: resetting existing protection when you plan to prepare and protect the surface again. Strip wash
